Microsoft (MSFT.US) founder Bill Gates recently stated in an interview with US media that the US restrictions on exporting chips to China and the implementation of technological blockades may backfire.

Instead of curbing China's technological development, these actions may accelerate China's full-speed advancement and breakthroughs in critical areas such as chip manufacturing, resulting in counterproductive effects.

With the proliferation of open-source software, it has become increasingly difficult to limit China's development, Gates said, describing that China will not markedly lead the US, and likewise, the US will not markedly lead China.

Regarding US tariff policies, Gates expressed concern that they may create immense uncertainty, impacting various industries and hindering companies from conducting normal investment activities.
